Arsita Mati is the National Programme Coordinator for the FAO-led United Nations Joint Programme Digital Agriculture and Rural Transformation (DART) in Albania. In this role, she coordinates the work of FAO, ILO, and ITU in supporting the Government of Albania to design the country’s first National Digital Agriculture Strategy and to develop digital public services for farmers, including the new Farmers’ Portal. Her work focuses on bridging policy, technology, and rural development to make digital innovation accessible and useful for farming communities. With more than a decade of experience in international development, project management, and public sector modernization, Arsita has worked with UN agencies, European partners, and national institutions on initiatives related to digital transformation, rural livelihoods, and inclusive economic growth. She has been involved in projects supported by the European Commission, the German Government, and SIDA, contributing to policy development, stakeholder engagement, and evidence-based reforms aligned with Albania’s EU integration process. Through her work, she advocates for responsible and inclusive innovation, ensuring that digital technologies strengthen institutions, empower farmers and rural youth, and contribute to sustainable and resilient agricultural systems.
